Donations

General information

We at Foy are incredibly lucky to be the stewards of such a wonderful Church. However, there is mounting financial pressure year on year as numbers in the regular congregation decrease whilst expenses grow.

In 2009 the cost of keeping St. Mary's Foy open amounted to £16.62 per day.

We are always gratious for any donations (no matter how small) so that we can preserve this beautiful Church for future generations. If you would like to donate to Foy Church, please read on.

Efficient giving

If you are a tax payer please consider reading this brief section on 'Gift Aid':

If you pay tax then you can make your donation 'tax efficient' by specifying that you wish your donation to be 'Gift Aided' - please note that this costs you nothing above your nominal donation. Foy Church benefits from Gift Aid donations since it can claim part of the tax (which you will have already paid e.g. in the form of income tax) back from HMRC.

By way of example, a Gift Aid donation costing you £10 would be worth £12.80 to our church.

If you would like to find out more about the Gift Aid scheme for churches and charities please visit HMRC's website by clicking here.

Making a donation

If you are thinking of visiting

If you are considering visiting Foy Church then you can deposit your donation in the Church's offertory box which is situated in the middle of the nave. Please consider if you would like your donation to be 'Gift Aided'.

If you are a tax payer and would like the Church to benefit from the 'Gift Aid' scheme (see section above) then simply place your donation in a Gift Aid envelope, fill in your details and then fold and deposit the envelope in the offertory box/service collection as appropriate.

Gift Aid envelopes are available on top of the offertory box in the Church - a sample envelope is pictured below:

Alternatively, to make a standard donation, please place loose monies in the offertory box/service collection as appropriate.
